Adapta SGW-2100

The Adapta is a single FXS port analog VOIP adapter with a built in router that separates the VOIP network from other devices. You can simply use this Adapta as your router to connect other devices on your network.

 

STEP 1
Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the WAN port of the Adapta. Connect the other end to your cable/DSL modem.

Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port of the Adapta. Connect the other end to the Ethernet port (network card) of your PC.

Power on the Cable/DSL modem and then power on the Adapta.

 

 


STEP 2
Make sure your PC is setup to obtain an IP address automatically (DCHP). This will allow your PC to obtain an IP address from the Adapta.

To verify that your PC obtained the IP address correctly run the IPconfig at the command prompt in your PC.

  1. Press “Start”
  2. Select “Run”
  3. Type CMD and press ENTER
  4. At the command prompt type:  ipconfig and then press ENTER

 Your network configuration should look like the following figure:

Where 192.168.18.1 is the Adapta’s IP address.

If for any reason your PC has not obtained the IP address from the ATA even though it is setup to obtain an IP address automatically run the following commands from the command prompt:

To release any IP address from your network card:
Ipconfig/release        

To renew the IP address:
Ipconfig/renew

STEP 3
Open your internet browser and type the following: http://192.168.18.1  and press enter.

A login pop-up will appear. The username is admin and the password is admin.

STEP 4
A setup page will appear. Click  SYSTEM.

Choose the Internet connection type depending on how your ISP assigns you your Internet Protocol (IP) number. When you have finished your settings click on “APPLY”. When the Adapta Setup screen comes back up, you should be able to browse the Internet from your PC. If not, contact your ISP

STEP 5
Choose PHONE from the main menu.

  1. Enter your InPhonex Virtual Number into the “User ID” field
  2. Enter your SIP Password into the “password” field.
  3. Enter sip.inphonex.com into the “proxy” field.
  4. Enter 30 in the "Register Expires" field.
  5. Change "Use Auth ID" to NO.

For the best quality choose codec G729a and then choose RFC2833 for the DTMF method.

*PLEASE NOTE* When using codec G.729 with this device, incoming calls from other virtual numbers may not work.  To resolve this issue switch your setting to use codec G.711u instead of G.729.

Click  “Apply”
